ALRO is a mexican producer that beginnings as a musician were at age of 12, playing electric guitar, receiving a YAMAHA Certification in 2013. He started playing as a DJ in 2016, being a resident in Torreón, Coahuila for 3 years. ALRO is focus on hybrid Techno and Tech House styl, he has played in several events such as EDC Mexico. The artist debuted with his production on ‘Back To The Moon’ on the EMPO / +Mas Label, one of the most influential record labels in Latin America. This release surpassed 200,000 streams on Spotify and was included in the EDC Mexico 2020 playlist. Adding more success to his career, the Mexican artist tells us a little more about himself and his future plans.
1 . How did you become the artist ?
My beginnings as a musician began at age 11, as a fan of Metallica, Iron Maiden, and Megadeth, starting to play electric guitar (for which I hold a Yamaha certification). Later, at 16, I began DJing, and 10 years ago, I began producing electronic music, specializing in Techno and
House.
2. What inspired you to have the musical style?
I’ve been involved on different genres such as Progressive House, Techno & Melodic Techno.
3. Where do you think music is evolving today?
Today, music is evolving toward something more human and more technological at the same time. People are no longer just looking to listen a track, but rather to have complete experiences: from a set at a massive festival to an intimate moment with headphones in the
early morning. I feel that electronic music is increasingly becoming a bridge: uniting cultures, blending genres, and connecting emotions with technology. Melodic Techno, for example reflects this future very well: its deep, hypnotic, and digital, but at the same time it makes you feel something very human. I think today’s music is evolving toward that: a union between the emotional and the futuristic.
4. We see you very motivated doing your live sets, how do you get inspired to achieve everything you’ve presented to us in past years?
My inspiration comes from the energy created at every rave, from every connection I have with people. Seeing how a melody can change someone’s mood motivates me to keep exploring and creating. I don’t think of my live sets as just music, but as moments where we
share something that goes beyond sound: it’s community, it’s escape, and it’s also the future. What keeps me going is that mix of human emotion and technology, and that’s why every year I strive to improve and present something different, deeper, and more honest.
5. Do you consider it important to keep up with new technologies? Are there any you’d leave out?
Undoubtedly any technology from the past can and should come back and develop new melodies.
6. you could go back in time, which bands/artists would you have paid more attention to?
Carl Cox, Tale Of Us, Solomun, Metallica.
7. Do you have any project or proposal for this half of the year?
I’m working on two two important issues: Developing a Hybrid Set and continuing to release music of increasingly better quality.
