After gaining a name for themselves thanks to their unique energy, style and mashups, Italian duo DJs From Mars have been venturing more and more into the original production space. Their latest production sees them officially team up with David Guetta, whom they’ve been working with behind the scenes for many years. We sat down with the masked musicians to learn more about this huge collab.

Hi guys, thanks for joining us! The first thing we have to talk about is the explosive new single of yours ‘Things I Haven’t Told You’ with David Guetta and Audiobullys. How did working officially with David come about? 

Hey thanks for having us!! Yes we’re very excited for this release! We work with David since 5 years or more, we help him creating the mash-ups for his sets. Sometimes we also made some official remixes for his releases like “I’m Good” or “I Don’t Wanna Wait” but this is the first official release together! It’s great because it started as a mash-up but crowd reactions when he played it were so wild that he decided to turn it into an actual official release! We hope it’s just the first one of more to come! 

Who’s idea was it originally to flip this iconic Audio Bullys anthem – and how did you choose to go in the direction of this genre? 

David came up with the idea of using that vocal to play it in his sets. Then we have some mash-ups we made for him in this UK Bass style, with those acid lead synths, and he asked to use this kind of instrumental for that vocal. We came up with this instrumental idea and it worked immediately great! We have a lot of edits in this genre, it’s UK Bass but with a harder twist! UK Bass is generally a bit softer, it’s often mixed with Garage House Vocals, what we do is taking some elements from that style and make it sound bigger, not for underground clubs but for a big stage. The combination with Audio Bullys vocals was just perfect cause we have this “electro-punk” screamo voice, combined with those acid synths, these elements work so good together! 

Can you give us a glimpse into what its like to work with David Guetta behind the scenes? 

He’s definitely the hardest working guy in this industry! He’s 100% focused on music, he always has the right idea to make a track work, and most of all, he’s super professional and loyal. He’s helping us with bookings, inviting us at his parties in Ibiza, he’s a totally friendly and nice guy, that’s very difficult to find in this industry! 

Also, we’re learning a lot working with him, every suggestion and feedback he sends is a lesson that we learn and keep in mind for our productions, so the benefit in working with him is incredibly great! We’re so happy that he likes our mash-up style so we had the chance to connect with such a great artist and person, it’s definitely taking our career to the next step! 

Before this, you also worked with Plastik Funk, Tujamo, Öwnboss, Gabry Ponte and more in 2025 alone. Do you have any standout moments to share from working with these artists? 

Yes plus we have some more ready for the second half of the year!! Actually working with them is a natural process! We know all of them personally, we shared some moments in backstages or even shared the stage. With Gabry Ponte we’re friends since more than 20 years, we used to work in the same recording studio in our hometown Turin. So all these collaborations are the result of self respect and we love all of their styles! We are really fans of the mash-up culture of course, so working with other artists is the perfect way to mix styles and genres, mixing up sounds is always great to evolve and discover new horizons!

The production process is normally very easy and smooth! We’re all studio freaks so we love to discuss about how the sounds could be better, how to fix EQ or use another kick to improve the track’s power and so on….We love that part of the process! Then, the annoying part is always finding a free slot to fix a release date hah! We’re all very busy and releasing a lot of stuff, so finding a free date for both artists involved is always really tricky!! But of course we always find a way.

How do you balance such insane releases with a big touring schedule?

Working on the road! We just completely changed our set up in the last 2 years: we have a new superpowerful Macbook Pro M3, and we started working with Ableton Live. All this happened thanks to David again, cause it was easier to share projects with him on Mac and Live. But this also changed our workflow! Ableton is such a great DAW, we can create a mash-up in one hour, easy. So yeah that’s the trick, we try to work on those long international flights, or in the car transfers from airport to hotel! Also, we try to live a double life, like touring and staying awake till late night, then back home and back to regular office times: wake up at 8, breakfast, studio, we like the fact that it’s never getting boring. If it was studio time all days it would be a bit annoying, if it was only touring, we’ll be in hospital! But this parallel different ways of living makes it all make sense in the end! 

What are you hoping to achieve the most in these following months? 

After years and years of mash-ups, we fell we can’t do more in this league, so it’s time to go to the next level and improve our original releases! We won’t leave the mash-ups behind of course: they’re the core of our project, and we still produce a lot of bootlegs and edits for our sets, we only play our mash-ups in all of our shows so it’s something we want to continue for sure! But in the same time, we want to go more “official” and try to release more and more original releases. Even if it’s a rework or a cover or a remix or a completely original track, this is the next goal we’re trying to achieve!  

Who is next on your list to collaborate with?  

We have a track already finished with Steve Aoki, we played it last weekend in Estonia together with him on stage and it’s gonna be released soon!
Then, other collaborations are already done but we still can’t talk about these!
