Grimes has issued an apology following “technical difficulties” that interrupted her DJ set at Coachella.

During the festival’s livestream over the weekend, viewers could hear moments of frustration from Grimes as she performed on the iconic Sahara stage on Saturday night. She later addressed the situation in a post on X.

“I want to apologize for the technical issues during the show tonight,” Grimes stated. “I aimed to make a strong comeback, and while I typically manage all aspects of my performance myself, this time I decided to outsource essential tasks like organizing tracks on the SD card and setting Rekordbox BPMs to save time. I had a sense of unease beforehand because I hadn’t personally checked everything on the CDJs, and although I raised this concern, I didn’t push for it.”

Grimes’ challenging performance mirrors a common struggle for DJs. Working with Rekordbox, the industry-standard software for DJing and music management, carries significant risks. Artists may encounter issues such as incompatible drivers, leading to corrupted files and inaccurate metadata like tempo and key.
