Two of bass music’s most forward-thinking producers, Virtual Riot and Blanke, unite on ‘Best of Me’

Virtual Riot and Blake share a luminous, emotionally driven new single featuring acclaimed vocalist Dia Frampton ‘Best Of Me’, marking a melodic departure from their heavier catalogues, the track finds both artists stepping outside rigid BPM frameworks in favor of warmth, restraint, and songwriting-led expression.

“When I heard the vocal I just really wanted to make something beautiful and melodic again,” says Virtual Riot. “I was super happy that Blanke was down to do this together. I really enjoyed working with him. It feels good to break out of the 140/150 BPM area every once in a while.”

For BLANKE, the collaboration represents a full-circle creative moment, “Working with the legendary Virtual Riot was always a ‘potential dream’ of mine,” he shares. “I, like most producers out there, had learned so much from his educational videos over the years, as well as listen to and play so many of his tunes. So to have been able to collaborate and work side by side in my own studio together has been surreal. Exchanging ideas, stories and ultimately creating “Best Of Me” together has been a privilege and I’m ecstatic to be releasing this one together!”

Dia Frampton’s contribution anchors the track’s emotional core. “‘Best of Me’ is about wanting to remember a relationship in a good light,” Frampton explains. “It’s about choosing not to hold onto why you broke up, but why you chose to be together in the first place, and holding memories in a kind and beautiful way as something ends.”

A German-born producer now based in Minneapolis, he has spent the past decade shaping the modern dubstep and bass landscape through uncompromising sound design, education-forward content, and boundary-pushing releases. His work includes collaborations with Skrillex, Grammy-nominated contributions, and releases via Monstercat, alongside festival appearances spanning Coachella, EDC Las Vegas, Rampage, Bass Canyon, and beyond.

For Blanke, the track further cements his evolution as a producer unafraid to explore emotional depth alongside technical precision and expanding his sonic palette while remaining rooted in bass culture.
